Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Chicken Breasts Tender and boneless

For the Stuffing Base

  • 1 box Stuffing Mix Use homemade for extra flavor
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth Use low-sodium for a lighter option
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream Substitute with half-and-half if needed

For the Aromatics

  • 1 medium Onion Sautéed for sweetness
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh cloves recommended
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Herbs (Sage & Thyme) Dried herbs can also work

For the Topping

  • 1 cup Cheese (optional) Cheddar or mozzarella recommended
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Herbs for Garnish Parsley or thyme

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then brown them in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and add chopped onions, sautéing them for 5 minutes until softened.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute, then stir in chicken broth and heavy cream. Toss in the sage and thyme, letting it simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  • Layer the browned chicken in your baking dish, pouring the creamy sauce over it, and topping with prepared stuffing. Sprinkle cheese on top if desired.
  • Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the stuffing is golden brown and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Optional to serve with steamed green vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
