Instructions

How to Make Deviled Egg Christmas Trees

  • Hard-boil the eggs by placing them in a pot covered with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and let simmer for 9-12 minutes. Remove from heat and let them cool before peeling.
  • Cut each egg in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the yolks with the ripe avocado, cream cheese, lemon juice, mayonnaise (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  • Fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip with the yolk mixture.
  • Pipe the mixture high into swirls on each egg white, resembling tree shapes.
  • Decorate your trees with chopped red bell pepper and chives, resembling ornaments and garland.
  • Chill the decorated egg trees in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve.

Notes

Use a star-shaped piping tip for best presentation. Make the filling a day in advance for optimal freshness and assemble just before serving.
