  • ½ cup Soy Sauce Gluten-free option available
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Grated
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Olive oil can be a substitute

For Added Texture

  • 1 cup Pineapple Chunks Fresh or canned
  • 2 scallions Green Onions For garnish

For Serving

  • 4 cups Cooked White or Jasmine Rice

Instructions

How to Make Crockpot Hawaiian Chicken

  • Dry your chicken pieces thoroughly, then season generously with salt and black pepper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated fresh ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined and smooth.
  • Layer the seasoned chicken at the bottom of the crockpot. Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated, and add the pineapple chunks on top.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
  • Once cooked, garnish with freshly sliced green onions and serve over cooked rice.

Notes

For thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and simmer any leftover sauce until thickened.
