Instructions

How to Make Festive Orange Chocolate Christmas Truffles

  • Finely chop the dark chocolate and set it aside in a heatproof bowl to prepare for melting.
  • In a small saucepan, combine cold heavy cream and the fresh orange zest. Heat over medium-low until it just starts to simmer.
  • Remove the pan from heat and immediately add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Gently stir the mixture from the center outward until it forms a silky smooth ganache.
  • Pour the ganache into a shallow dish. Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Once firm, use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out portions of ganache. Roll them quickly in your hands to form uniform balls.
  • Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles, gently pressing to adhere.
  • Place the coated truffles back on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to firm up.

Notes

Optional: Dust with cocoa powder or add a drizzle of white chocolate for an extra touch.
