  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (About 1.5 pounds)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 piece lemon, juiced

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by melting the butter. You can do this in a small bowl in the microwave or on the stove.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until it is well combined.
  • Take the chicken breasts and place them in the slow cooker. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the chicken so that every piece gets coated.
  • Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the chicken.
  • Cover the slow cooker with its lid. Set it to cook on low for about 6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

Serving

  • When cooking is complete, carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker and place it onto a serving plate. You can either leave the breasts whole or shred them based on your preference.
  • Spoon some of the leftover garlic butter sauce from the slow cooker over the chicken. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
  • Serve this dish over rice or mashed potatoes for the best experience.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh garlic. You can add vegetables in the last hour of cooking for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
